Houses of Parliament – Palace of Westminster

The seat of British government and the model for legislative democracy all over the world, the House of Parliament are a must see attraction. The problem is that it’s a working government building to public access is very restricted. If you fancy sitting on debates or Prime Minister’s questions, you must be a British citizen unless you want to go through an insane vetting procedure. They now offer guided tours every Saturday and when Parliament is on summer recess there are daily tours. If you won’t want to go inside, it’s worth taking a look at the outside and listening to Big Ben chime. There are also many other attractions worth visiting in the area so chances are you’ll happen on it at least once on a trip to London.
