Want to visit a horse race course in the South of England and don’t know where to start? There are some fantastic racecourses dotted around the South of the country, you will be spoilt for choice. If you are new to horse racing and don’t know much about the events in your local area then here is some information about the courses to get you started.

Ascot

If you want to go to one of the best race courses in the South then head to the notorious Ascot racecourse. It’s probably one of the most famous and well known race courses in the UK. Newbury

Newbury racecourse holds over jumps and flat races and is one of the top horse racing courses in the country. The grounds are very impressive and they are located not far from the m3 and m4 motorways, under an hour’s drive from Heathrow airport. This racecourse puts on over 30 impressive race days for dedicated horse racing fans.

Epsom Down

If you want to see a grade 1 flat horse race then head to the Epsom Derby. This is a lovely venue with top notch facilities and delightful views of parts of London. It’s located in Epsom in Surrey and is a grade 1 racecourse. One of this courses best known races has to be the Epsom Derby which is a thoroughbred race for three year old fillies and colts.

Sandown Park

Make your way to Sandown park where they host the Coral Eclipse meeting. It’s one of the best flat races in the UK. Sandown Park is a venue based in Esher, Surrey. This horse racing venue hosts a number of wonderful events for all types of horse racing enthusiast.
